Let's be honest here: The Philadelphia 76ers are in dire, dire straits. There were more people at Mad River's Happy Hour than at the Sixers game against the Grizzlies last Friday. On Thanksgiving eve, a local bar in Philadelphia decided to show the Magic vs. Heat on their big screen as opposed to Sixers vs. Celtics.

In the midst of the Phillies going to their second straight World Series and the Eagles LOSING to the Oakland Raiders – the city’s red-headed sports team, the Sixers, have been flying under the radar as they currently hold a 5-2 record in preseason. They started at 4-0 which is the best preseason start for the club in the past 30 years or so.

The Sixers went into the 2009 NBA Draft with a very distinct plan. Their mission was to draft a true guard that will be able to quickly contribute to their offensive formula and fill in the possible gaps if the departure of Andre Miller becomes a reality. Many of us had Ty Lawson pegged as the Sixers pick, instead of going with a 6 foot 3 inch stud out of UCLA Jrue Holiday.
