If you’re looking for good news as the Philadelphia Eagles sit 5-3 at the midpoint of this season, consider that over the past decade they have the second-best record in the league in November and December at 53-23-1. Andy Reid’s team have figured out how to get hot when the weather gets cold over the years and may need to do so again if they are going to make a run for the NFC East title, or even make the playoffs for that matter.

A to-do list for the Philadelphia Eagles

As this Eagles season continues on with the weekly beatings of bad teams and the one loss to a good team, there are some concerns the team needs to address sooner rather than later. Let’s start on the offensive side of the ball where the future looks brighter every week with the emergence of Jeremy Maclin to team with DeSean Jackson at wide receiver and Brent Celek at tight end. One of the first things the team needs to do off the field is get fullback Leonard Weaver’s name on a long-term contract.

You take a quick look at the Eagles offensive line on their depth chart and you see the potential for greatness. Then you look out on the field and see Winston Justice. There isn’t another area on this team where the ceiling is so high and the floor so low than the offensive line which as training camp concluded its first week was still in a state of flux. Injuries have kept left tackle Jason Peters and right tackle Shawn Andrews out of the lineup and have limited right guard Stacy Andrews.
