The 54-year-old has sold over 300 million albums through the decades. With the release of her 12th album, “MDNA” she has become the most successful solo artist ever according to UK album charts. Madonna’s extensive career includes a record breaking 37 Top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles Chart along with a record breaking 40 Number 1’s on Billboard’s Dance/Club Play Song Charts.  Her first tour was the 1985 Virgin Tour.

Currently, Madonna’s on the North American leg of her “MDNA” tour which began on May 29th and has hit many international venues, arenas, stadiums and special outdoor sites. In addition to singing and showing off her dance moves, the concert is in true Madonna fashion, featuring her in a variety of scenarios including shooting guns, mincing meat, twirling a baton while donning a cheerleading outfit, walking a tightrope, playing instruments, working her cone-shaped bra and dropping her pants to show the audience her black thong and fishnet stockings.

The Grammy winning singer, songwriter and producer sang songs from MDNA for the sold-out performance including “Girl Gone Wild,” “I Don’t Giv A,” “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” “I’m A Sinner” and “Turn Up The Radio.”

With a catalog spanning over 30 years, Madonna also sang her hits from back in the day such as “Holiday,”  “Like A Prayer,” “Vogue,” “Papa Don’t Preach” and “Like A Virgin.”  But, it was during Madonna’s “Masterpiece” dedication to fellow pop star, Lady Gaga that made the crowd go wild.

On Saturday night, the music artist said, “I’m going to dedicate this next song to Lady Gaga! Do you want to know something? I love her. I love her. I do love her. Imitation is the highest form of flattery! And one day, very soon we’re going to be on the stage together—just you wait.”

Madonna also performed a mash-up of her “Express Yourself” and Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way;” followed by snippets of “She’s Not Me” from Madonna’s 2008 album, Hard Candy. The singer made comments about Lady Gaga in the beginning of the summer when she launched her tour and has continued to make the remarks.

Shortly after, Lady Gaga fired back during one of her concerts saying, “It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make mockery of their work and that doesn’t make me feel good at all. That just makes me feel like I’m not being a good human being. I feel like if you’re a really good human being you can try to find something beautiful in every single person no matter what and it’s a challenge but at the end of the day I learned so much this year about that.”

“I learned a lot about negativity, I learned a lot about people trying to tear you down, and I’m just not that person and I never will be. I don’t even want to fight back because it’s more important to me to keep writing music because that’s really all I care about is the music,” Lady Gaga continued

While Lady Gaga didn’t mention Madonna by name she did add, “Things are really different now then they were 25 years ago, and that’s what makes ‘Born This Way’ so relevant for me is that I really want you all to notice this tremendous place that we are in now. We’re socially in a different place and it’s ok, we don’t have to all slice and hate each other anymore.”

Time will tell if the pop stars really collaborate; but for the thousands of fans who packed into Boardwalk Hall—they were thrilled to watch Madonna.
