Ever hear of the Tompkins 300? It all started when comedian Paul F. Tompkins challenged his Toronto fans toPaul F. Tompkins. Photo: Gothamist.com get 300 people to commit to seeing one of his shows and then he’d book it.

Now Tompkins, using the power of Facebook, has booked dozens of cities in this fashion including Philadelphia on August 14th at 7pm at the PHIT Theater.

But some of you say, “Wait, I get your 300 Sparta references, but I’m not sure who Paul F. Tompkins is.”

Well, here’s a little reminder from Mr. Show, he’s the guy in the black shirt.

Or perhaps you saw him on Countdown.

In any case, you can now be part of the Tompkins 300, hipster, or you can spend another night drinking beers and staring at the walls of the Kyber. Your call.
