Philly2Philly heads to Philadelphia fashion week 2009-Part 2


Hello all you Phashionistas- time for part two of my fashion week excitement! Philly Fashion Week

There was just as much anticipation in the air last night as the second day of Philadelphia’s Fashion week came into play. People were eager to see the latest designers.  

Thursday’s lineup included student designers from Philadelphia University, with much originality and new looks to familiar fabrics. Anxious designers and their families enjoyed the shows. 

Next in the lineup was Philly’s own Street Star Custom Clothing, where swank meets street. I enjoyed this line immensely. Personalized and unique, this is a collection that gets your attention. Next, GAR-DE featured a mix of looks to create a united one- a casual cotton shirt with tailored pants. This look was relaxed and fun.  Nine Days is an innovative line focusing on denim, with classically cool ways to wear clothes, rebelling against stereotypes and labels. 

S. Love, a New York-Based line, brought out deep blues and purples, creating extremely elegant fashion with gorgeous fabrics.  Last in Thursday’s line up, but definitely not least, was Triple 5 Soul, a Brooklyn-originated company whose footwear and outwear is creating an international sensation. 

S LoveEntertainment was provided by The Model, DJ Bonics, DJ Phsh, DJ Mr. Sonny, James, and the headliner act was Tu Phace, all entertaining the crowd and keeping the models in step. 

I spoke to Mathew Izzo’s mom Denise, who was helping run the pop-boutique, earlier in the evening, and she had said just how excited everyone was to be there for Fashion Week. 

It was certainly evident as people lined the door again, ready for the latest looks, food, and fun!
