'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' Recap: Season 6 Episode 5

It’s Always Reviewed in PhiladelphiaIt's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Episode 5: Mac and Charlie: White Trash

In the fifth episode, Mac and Charlie get snubbed at a private pool, so they decide to fix up an abandoned public pool. Dennis and Dee also get barred from the same pool and end up in a disgusting public pool Frank, as usual, doesn’t care. He ends up in the public pool.

This episode is classic Sunny, because the characters are lying about the same thing. They are so caught up in the self-imposed images they hold of themselves, they continually shoot themselves in the foot.

Highlights include a moment where Charlie actually tells Mac that he can’t do karate or backflips. Mac, of course, caught up in his own delusion, continues to make excuses. Ultimately, the ending is very nice. It’s nice to see the characters bond, of course, without admitting their shortcomings.

According to the Sunny scale:

1 is Dee

2 is Frank

3 is Charlie

4 is Mac

5 is a Dennis

I have to give this episode a solid Mac. Awesomeness. Oh and stay for The League right after. That has an opening that’s definitely a Dennis.
