Philadelphia Film Society gives back with free movies this entire weekend!

With the news that Philadelphia’s popular Cinefest was cancelled, a serious cloud of film disappointment was cast upon the City of Brotherly Love. However, the Philadelphia Film Society has answered Cinephile’s prayers.

Starting April 9th, for three days, the city will host a mini film festival covering over seven countries. The cinematic soiree will feature fresh new talent as well as experienced Hollywood pros. Oh, and it’s all free.

The Philadelphia Film Festival Spring Preview will feature a wide variety of acclaimed and eclectic films, both domestic and international."The Joneses" Photo: http://media.tiff.net:8080/contents/original/joneses_01.jpg One of the highlights includes The Joneses, a sharp satire on materialism in suburbia starring high profilers such as Demi Moore  and David Duchovny. Also featured will be the Australian noir-ish thriller The Square, which has been garnering major critical acclaim across the board. Other films slated for release are the Italian relationship drama I Am Love, as well as Harry Brown, a crime thriller starring Oscar winner Michael Caine.

This event will be held exclusively at the Prince Music Theater. Tickets for the festival will be complimentary and available to Film Society members as well as the general public. In the event that all tickets sell out, there will still be two options available to obtain tickets. A membership through the Film Society will permit access to the festival.

Also, for the general public, there will be last minute seats available at the venues upon which the films are being shown, so get there one hour early to obtain those tickets.
