Philly Lawyer Takes a Shot at Reality TV Love on ABC's The Bachelorette

Another Philly area professional, Craig Robinson, joins the romance rat race along with 24 other chiseled hopefuls to win Ali Fedotowsky’s heart on this current season’s bachelorette logoThe Bachelorette. I had the pleasure of meeting Craig, the 27 year old tall, cute, and charming lawyer, at another Philly reality star’s premiere party about a month ago. Although he just got back from reality TV madness and was tight lipped as he could be due to that crazy million dollar confidentiality clause which bars discussing any of the show’s secrets and results before it airs (which I remember all too well), I was able to persuade Craig to answer some questions about his experiences on the show. Ali Fedotowsky

How will he fare on The Bachelorette? Will he win Ali’s heart and join the winner’s circle of reality tv with me or he will be one of my most eligible’s for Philly2Philly soon and be fair game for us local singles? Tune in tonight for the show’s premiere at 9pm on Channel 6/ABC and every Monday thereafter and see. Good luck Craig!

Helene: Why did you decide to apply to be on The Bachelorette?

Craig: First of all, I did not apply for it. My roommate sent in the initial application for me. I tried out for another reality tv show called Holidate, which is on an ABC affiliate channel but they didn’t pick me. Then, while watching tv, my roommate and I saw an ad for the Bachelorette and my roommate decided to go online and submit an application for me. For me, I decided to do it because I’m single, like to have fun, and am open to falling in love on a tv show.

Helene: Did you watch The Bachelor with Ali on it and why did you think you two would be a good match?

Craig: I didn’t watch the whole season of her show and I honestly hated watching it because I don’t like watching reality tv. I forced myself to watch it because I was interested in seeing who may be chosen because they told me it would be one of those girls. As for Ali, she seemed like she was easy to talk to and had a good personality. She laughs a lot and I liked to make people laugh. She’s obviously gorgeous but has a girl next door beauty. That’s what I like about her. She’s like a normal girl and not like a girl you’d expect to find on tv.

Helene: How was your attraction/interaction with Ali on the show?

Craig: We hit it off from the start. If I talked to her for a half of an hour, it seemed like a minute. We got along great and there was obviously an attraction there from the get-go.

Helene: Did you get swept off your feet?

Craig: The experience itself swept me off my feet. I’m a regular guy and I’m not used to living a life of luxury. From the first minute I saw Ali though, I had a good feeling about her.

Helene: Did you bond with any of the guys on the show or create any meaningful friendships?

Craig: YES! I bonded with a lot of the guys and I’m positive that many of those friendships will last a lifetime. My friends at home are my real friends but I shared a bond with the guys on the show due to our experiences and I think I’ll always be friends with the ones I am close with.

Helene:  Was there a lot of drama in the house and did you cause any?

Craig: There was a lot of drama in the house. You’ll have to wait and see if I cause any.

Helene: What makes you a good catch?

Craig: I think what makes me a good catch is that I’m genuine, honest, I smile a lot, I always look for the best in everyone, and I’m very friendly to people whom most people would not be. I like people a lot and I genuinely like being around people I like.

Helene: What are your favorite places to take a date in Philly? Where would you take Ali if she came to Philly to visit you?kelly drive

Craig: If she wasn’t from Philly, I’d take her for a walk on Kelly Drive and then to the Art Museum. Then we’d go to Love Park and then maybe Rittenhouse Square for dinner. As for Ali, you may have to wait and see.
