Jersey Shore Events For Fourth Of July Weekend 2010


It seems like we just celebrated Memorial Day Weekend, the unofficial start to the summer season and now, Independence Day is upon us and the summer is in full swing! With so much to see and do, Philly2Philly put together some of the highlights the shore has to offer this Fourth of July.

Atlantic City's weekend celebration begins on Friday, July 2 at 9:30pm with a fireworks display. The show will be launched from a barge located off the Pier Shops at Caesars. Officials say, a 25-minute breathtaking pyrotechnic display will light up the night sky over the Atlantic Ocean, choreographed to music. Your best views will be anywhere along the Atlantic City Beach, Boardwalk, at The Pier Shops at Caesars and from any of the Atlantic City casino hotels.

If you would like to watch from the water a Cruisin' One Fireworks Cruise, will be departing at 8 pm from Historic Gardner's Basin and returning at approximately 10 pm. The cruise costs $30 per person, for both fireworks shows on Friday night July 2nd and Sunday night July 4th. Tickets are available online at www.atlanticcitycruises.com. The Jessie O' Fishing boat is also offering night cruises and departs at 7:30pm on July 2nd and July 4th. The fireworks cruise aboard the Jessie O' II will return 10:30pm. On Sunday, July 4th - Fireworks Presented by Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and Harrah's Resort will offer the third consecutive freedom celebration fireworks display above Atlantic City's Marina District. This is slated as among the largest fireworks show on the East Coast. Harrah's Resort viewing area will open at 1pm with live music, food and beverages. The Borgata viewing area will open at 6pm. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at approximately 9pm.


Diddy, Dirty Money and Friends will perform 8pm July 3, at the House of Blues in Showboat. www.hob.com/venues/clubvenues/atlanticcity/

Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band will appear on July 3 at Caesars  in Atlantic City at 8pm. www.caesarsac.com

On July 4, the Monster Ball Tour Starring Lady Gaga will be at Boardwalk Hall. Show time is 8pm. www.livenation.com.

In honor of the pop icon, The Beach Bar at Trump Plaza will host Monster Ball at The Beach Bar on Sunday July 4. After the concert, Poker Face - The Lady Gaga Tribute Show will perform at the beach bar beginning at 10pm.

Get ready to boogie at Trump Marina! Debuting on July 2, THE DISCO will be open every Friday and Saturday at 9pm and will stay open for entire holiday weekends. DJ Jim Stritch will be spinning everyone's favorite tunes from the 70s and 80s. Funky disco balls, dancers and fun lighting effects give the new venue a Saturday Night Fever feel.

Voted the best show in Las Vegas, V" The Ultimate Variety Show is appearing at Trump Plaza Casino for a 10 week special summer engagement. Now through September 5, the show is a combination of the “Best of the Best” award-winning variety acts from around the world. For more information call 609-441-6150.

In Sea Isle, on July 4, the Jr. Olympics will be held at Dealy Field located at 59th Street and Central Avenue. Boys and girls ages 3-13 are invited to participate. Registration begins at 9:30am. Wildwood is hosting its Centennial Fourth of July Weekend Freedom Festival at Rambler Road and Ocean Avenue in the Gazebo-by-the-Sea area. Crafters of all kinds, food, live entertainment and children's activities are planned at 9am and will go until 5pm each day. Concerts Under the Stars Summer Concert Series will feature Shirley Alston Reeves, the former lead singer of the Shirelles. The concert will take place at 2nd & Ocean Avenues, in North Wildwood at 8pm. For more information call 609.522.2955 or visit www.NorthWildwood.com.

In Cape May, the Independence Parade will begin outside of Convention Hall on Saturday, July 3 at 1pm. The Historic Cold Spring Village will also be holding an Independence Day Celebration, Saturday, July 3. A vintage Baseball game is scheduled for 12pm, played by 1873 rules—in historic uniforms and with no gloves!

The Congress Hall Festival Choir will sing before the fireworks, which are scheduled to begin at sundown (around 9pm). For more information visit www.congresshall.com.

The US Coast Guard Training Center will have their Sunset Parade at 1800 Pennsylvania Avenue on Sunday, July 4 at 7:55pm. The event will feature the Recruit Band, Drill Team and marching troops among others. The Sunset Parade also promises to be a colorful and inspiring military ceremony.
