King of Prussia’s Fashion’s Night Out Kicks Off Unofficial Fall Season in Style

Music, fashion, giveaways and food were all a part of King of Prussia Mall’s Fashion’s Night Out. King of Prussia Mall’s Fashion’s Night Out.I was there, with a corset top, silk cargo pants, kitten heels and feathers in my hair to mark the debut of the east coast’s latest fall fashions.

This year’s theme- Experience the World- with a 3-day celebration and was a way for mall attendees to see all the shoppes in the mall debuting their fall fashions with a mini passport for everyone to get stamped in 4 zones, which in turn could win you prizes. Many stores offered all kinds of fun over the weekend, kicking off with 'Fashion’s Night Out' with runway events, a DJ and prizes in practically every store, and the latest looks. The Opera Company of Philadelphia was there displaying some amazing costumes from upcoming performances.

Saturday’s event was 'Fashionable Family Fun Day' and Sunday was 'Home Fashion’s and Food Day,' so needless to say, the King of Prussia Mall was a premiere destination.

Betsey Johnson,  Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Bloomie’s, Macy’s, Tiffany and Co... so many great stores and only one night to run around and see all the fun! Bare Escentuals offered a free travel powder when you proffered a passport to be stamped, and countless stores had giveaways on the hour, champagne (yum!), cocktails and food and desserts. David Yurman had stylists on hand to discuss fall styling tips and offered champagne and truffles. Makeover and consultations were to be had in many stores in the Court and the Plaza.

My favorite part of the night was the runway show next to Bloomingdale’s, where models showed off the latest fashions from all the big department stores from the largest mall on the east coast. Each girl carried a little sign identifying where the clothes are from, but I was interested in knowing who styled these girls and where the makeup and accessories were from.

Lots of flounce, fur and animal prints were prevalent, a lot of what I saw at Mercedes Benz Fall Fashion Week back in February. I love fall fashions so I am quite excited about this season’s look.

The mall was full of people out and about for the night of fun, dressed up, dressed down, and everything in between (um yeah, you in the pajamas…good for sleeping only- like in your bed, and not walking the mall!)

In other parts of the mall, there were opera singers, a mainstage with several bands, and restaurants all getting in on the fun.

Fashion’s Night Out was launched in 2009 by Vogue, the City of New York, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and NYC & Company, as a worldwide initiative to celebrate fashion and support local economies in response to the current economic climate- and you don’t have to spend a lot to look great this fall!

For another year in a row- people came from all over to celebrate fashion – it was one huge party. Don’t miss out next year!
