Jay-Z and Kanye West take over Atlantic City with their 'Watch the Throne' Tour

One of the biggest tours in hip hop history made a stop at historic Boardwalk Hall  in Atlantic City over the weekend. The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa presented ‘Watch the Throne featuring Jay-Z and Kanye West.’ Together, the artists have over 25 Grammy Awards and have sold millions of albums worldwide. Due to overwhelming demand, the tour produced by Live Nation added the date in the resort for one night only. Jay-Z and Kanye West take over Atlantic City with their 'Watch the Throne' Tour. On Saturday night, 14,000 people packed into the venue waiting for the concert to start—which eventually began but two hours after its scheduled time. The artists opened the sold-out concert with “H.A.M.” from their collaborative album Watch the Throne.

Fans immediately jumped to their feet as Jay-Z stood on a platform-stage in the middle of the hall—donning his signature NY Yankees hat, while Kanye stood on another platform-stage in the front towards the main stage. The platform-stages elevated to almost 20 feet with LCD paneling around the base showcasing coordinated lights and video clips.

The pair then performed “Otis” followed by “Who Gon Stop Me Now” before ending up on the main stage where two giant video screens projected their performance in the background. During the two hour concert, the artists also performed their solo hits individually and of-course wowed the crowd with their vocal talent coming together, singing songs from their recently released collaborative album.

The energetic rappers also featured tracks from their classic catalogues. Throughout the night, fans heard Jay-Z perform his hits such as “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem),” “Jigga What, Jigga Who,” “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),”  “U Don’t Know,” and “Empire State of Mind,” which prompted the audience to scream and cheer. Later, during his “Public Service Announcement” track, fireballs went off behind him on stage.

West then stepped into the spotlight, performing “Runaway,” “Flashing Lights,” “Gold Digger,” “Jesus Walks” and “Heartless.”

Jay-Z and Kanye West have each appeared as guests on the other's stage and now the artists have teamed up for the Watch the Throne tour. This super star show takes fans on a nostalgic yet modern trip featuring their hip hop hits from the past two decades.
