The girls and Brad jet off to the beautiful island of Anguilla for some sun, fun, and romance on this Valentine’s Day viewing of the 7th episode of Bachelor 15.

The first one on one date goes to Emily, the frontrunner and apple of Brad’s eye. The two fly off in a helicopter to Sandy Island (their own private island). While sitting and talking to Emily, Brad confesses that he feels nervous around her and Emily discloses that she still isn’t sure if she wants to introduce Brad to her daughter. She notes that she is overprotective and she is scared too. Even with all of her hesitations, Brad expresses that he will break the rules for Emily because he cares about her so much.

As romantic as this sounds, I still think Emily should let Brad at least meet and have a chance to interact with her daughter if she wants to be the last woman standing and ultimately end up with Brad. And if her feelings are true for him, why wouldn’t she want them to meet? I’m a little perplexed by her hesitation because I’m sure Emily had thought about this before she even decided to do the show. She had to know that this would be a possibility. So in a sense, I’m thinking that she is being a little overly dramatic about the situation.

Brad and Shawntel's Date

The second one on one date goes to Shawntel. She and Brad bike through a local town, share some tropical drinks, jump rope, and play a game with the locals. During their chat, Shawntel opens up and tells Brad that she is falling for him. In his interview, Brad acknowledges that he and Shawntel definitely connected that day  but he notes that he connected with Emily the day earlier on a deeper level. On their night dinner date, Shawntel and Brad discuss their families and Brad opens up to her about his dad’s lack of involvement in his life. Later, they enjoy some music and dance to music by Bankie Banx (a local band). After some dancing, they take off into the ocean and kiss some more. It seems Shawntel is making some headway in this date, but I’m still not sure that I see them together at the end.

Brad and Britt

The last one on one date goes to Britt, whom Brad wants to see if they can connect on a romantic level. The two walk along the beach and do some swimming and cliff jumping at Little Bay. Brad expresses that he feels that they are in the most romantic place, but he doesn’t feel the sparks with Britt. They eventually swim off to their private yacht and share some private time together there as well.

While at dinner, Brad and Britt share some awkward conversations where Britt seems more into Brad than he is with her. He ultimately tells Britt that he doesn’t feel a romantic connection with her and doesn’t want to string her along anymore. He then walks her off to a small boat where she is taken back to the girls’ residence. The girls greet her there and Britt tells them tearfully she is leaving. She then packs her bags to go home. It was a very heart wrenching moment, where I honestly felt so bad for Britt but kind of saw it coming with them. Britt is an adorable and sweet woman and I’m sure she will find her prince someday.Brad and Michelle from 'The Bachelor." Photo: http://starcasm.net/archives/84996

Trouble in Paradise

Lastly, Brad wakes up Chantal, Michelle, and Ashley at 2am to go off and get ready for an early morning photo shoot for Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue.

While the girls seem initially excited and very nervous, that eventually gives way to Ashley and Chantal taking off their tops and Michelle straddling and kissing Brad on the beach (sort of reenacting the From Here to Eternity movie scene).

While Ashley and Chantal feel put off by the erotic scene with Brad and Michelle, Brad does some damage control by giving the doubting Ashley the rose for the date.

This backfires on Brad as Chantal gets very upset by this gesture and wants Brad to send her home if she can’t choose her out of three girls for a rose. Brad tries his best to comfort the crying Chantal while Ashley and Michelle take off. It is abundantly clear that Chantal is in love with Brad  and can’t bare any kind of rejection from him or witness any displays of affection towards the other girls. They hug, but awkwardly part ways to get ready for the rose ceremony that night.

The Rose Ceremony

For the rose ceremony, the girls take off in a limo to the exquisite Le Bleu Resort on the beach. The girls marvel in the setting and share a glass of wine all while wondering where Brad is for their cocktail party. Michelle is eager to talk to Brad and wants to reel him back into her clutches and try to reestablish the initial strong connection that she and Brad once had. Chantal is nervous as well that her emotions and crying sessions with Brad may be damaging her chances of ending up with him.

Brad ultimately decides to nix the cocktail party and go right to the rose ceremony. He tells the women and Chris Harrison that he is 100% confident in his choices and ultimately sends Michelle home, which is a shocker in some ways but not in others. Michelle walks off silently, refuses to hold Brad’s hand, and leaves quietly in the limo. She lays down in the limo with no commentary or afterthoughts.

I think Michelle was so stunned and upset (pissed) about being spurned that she didn’t want to act upset or display any emotions, which kind of makes me wonder if she was really that into Brad or more just into “winning.” Brad later notes that while he and Michelle shared a strong physical connection, he worried that their personalities may eventually clash and it all ending badly. And I totally agree with Brad on this one!

Tune in next week when Brad jets off across the country to meet Emily’s, Ashley’s, Chantal’s, and Shawntel’s families!
