The Mount Hope Murder Mystery Dinner  theatre was a clever and spooky night! The Mount Hope Murder Mystery Dinner

Set in the Mount Hope Mansion, the many rooms of the mansion were set up receive their guests. My friend and I were settled in at table 1 (the best table, our dinner companions agreed) and while each room in the mansion- the library, the parlor and dining room, we all were the esteemed guests of the Illuminated Ideas

Society and we have gathered with the greatest minds of 1899 to pick the greatest thinker of the new century. Yet, personal vendettas and wily characters keep the audience on their toes.

I thought this dinner theatre bucked the system a bit, in a thoroughly enjoyable way.

Rather than the cast doing a full-one scene for each course, making the audience stop eating to watch, the ‘esteemed thinkers’ of the night acted out their vignettes in a much more subtle way, commenting on the food, sitting with the audience at their tables and drawing the attention to them - which were really clues in disguise to figure out the murderer later on!

During the entire dinner- which was delicious as we feasted on Welsh Rarebit, Prawn Salad, Chicken Murillo and Sun Dried Tomato Lasagna, and fresh Peaches Cartwright over Devonshire Splits- we were carefully given clues.

The mansion was decorated in a classic Victorian fashion, and the wines from the shire's winery were flowing readily. The audience then got to decide on the greatest thinker- who would it be? Madame Curie? Nikola Tesla? Dr. Sigmund Freud? H.G. Wells?  But before we can hear from these famous folks in-between courses, the unthinkable happens! And our help was needed to garner the truth!

Join the cast of the murder mystery dinner threatened they try to find out: who dun it?! Bring your appetites and your thinking caps to save the greatest mystery of the century!!

The amazing and talented cast kept the audience laughing and thinking and they sought to solve the crime!
