"Your Colour Palette" with Laini Bianculli. The winds of change are upon us and the time has come to receive some much needed inspiration and motivation (in Lainiology it’s referred to as ‘fashionspiration’) to get up, get going, lighten up and enjoy life.

The everyday of every day takes its toll on all of us in myriad ways but we need to find the joy that surrounds our lives and embrace it. ‘CARE’ (Celebrate, Appreciate, Reflect, Express). I recently vacationed in Arizona and while getting ready for my trip, I decided I was going to pack and travel as light as possible.

I wanted to experience the feeling of less is more and even though it was very difficult to leave certain shoes and handbags behind, I must admit, it felt fabulous.  For the first time, in a very long time, I wasn’t schlepping.  I didn’t have bag after bag weighing me down - - I was living!

Standing at an elevation of 7,262 feet overlooking the ineffable Grand Canyon oozes inspiration. I was draped in layer upon layer of thrill bumps and Grand Canyon in Arizona.had many light bulb moments.  It was as humble as apple pie and even more delicious. I wanted to bottle up the feeling and take this natural treasure home with me to spritz it on whenever I am in need of a grand style pick me up.

I stumbled upon quite a few treasures while traveling.  These treasures are not places or things, but rather, they are special people.  Hence, Your Colour Palette’s “Hidden Treasures.”

You don’t have to travel very far to find “Hidden Treasures,” they are usually all around you while walking from ‘catwalk to sidewalk.’  You just need to lighten up a little and pay attention to your inner compass that will point you in the right direction of these distinct and talented people. On my mission to lighten up, my personal navigation system brought me to AMS Salon and Lounge, a Philadelphia Magazine Best of Philly salon for best cut and style by owner, Alex Molchadskiy and best color by Megan Reilly.  AMS Salon and Megan Reilly have also been featured in InStyle and Allure Magazines for best colorist.

An artist with her brush, the beautiful Megan paints the hair using a French technique called Balayage.   AMS Salon and Lounge, a Philadelphia Magazine Best of Philly salon for best cut and style by owner, Alex Molchadskiy and best color by Megan Reilly. This system has been a celebrity trend and continues to be as it creates a “softer more natural color that adds depth, movement and shine to your hair” without over processing or damaging results. The benefits are beautiful ombre highlights strategically placed that brighten up your complexion for an overall healthy glow.

As for style, Alex Molchadskiy is a virtuoso with the blow dryer. I had voluminous luster that lasted me way into my work week before my next wash and blow dry. Thanks to my treasured Megan, Alex and the entire team at AMS, I am lighter, brighter and ready for spring!  AMS Salon is located on the 2nd floor of 123 S. 16th Street.

A few blocks away on the 18th floor of 1500 Walnut Street is a Scandinavian secret called Bailine Body Sculpting for Women. The treasures who own this unique haven for women are Marianne Torhus and Lisbet Drivdahl.  Marianne and Lisbet understand the everyday woman and our desire to look and feel great all the time so they have opened this beautiful new studio where we can go to get results, chitchat about life and fashion new friendships.

Bailine Body Sculpting is a program founded in Norway over 40 years ago designed to enhance female beauty, health and well-being through “computerized muscle stimulation that offers women a quick, relaxing and easy compliment to traditional exercise methods, helping tone and target the ‘problem’ areas of each woman’s body.” Based on Bailine’s three principles of “increased activity, modification of diet and mental conditioning,” this is not a replacement for eating healthy and exercise but it is accessorizing to complete your signature style look.Bailine Studio 2

I have been trying to drop the same five pounds since I turned 40.  Well, three years later, I am still struggling with these five pounds even though I eat healthy and exercise (don’t’ believe the hype, 40 is NOT the new 30, it’s still the same 40) so I thought I must give Bailine a try.

I have completed three sessions so far and though I do not have official results yet, I am noticing a difference in the fit of my clothes and feel tighter and toned in my target areas.  I will keep you posted after my fifth session.

The results are in for the lovely Kaitlyn McCrea of Cashman & Associates.  Kaitlyn has completed five sessions at Bailine with a weight loss of three pounds and 3 ¾ total inches.  Congratulations Kaitlyn and keep up the hard work!  With all of us cheering you on I know you can do it.

When walking from AMS Salon and Lounge to Bailine, BCBGMAXAZRIA  is a favorite ‘catwalk’ shopping destination that I just can’t ignore especially when there is a sale.  It truly is the ultimate indulgence for me and all of my Colour Palettes.  The 2011 spring season trend is all about bold and bright color but you can also lighten up and shift into neutral with footwear, accessories and clothing suggestions for spring with sophisticated, classic shades of blush, nude, camel, taupe, grey, champagne and beige python print

This is understated style and elegance that knows no season and will carry you from day into night so it is well worth the investment.

I guess you could say I have been inspired by true events.  My treasure chest is full of the special people that share my life.  What’s in your treasure chest?

A very special thank you to my beautiful Colour Palettes, Kate Ryan Baird and Kaitlyn McCrea.
With fashionable gratitude,
