Jillian Michaels Leaving 'The Biggest Loser', Showtime Cancels 'United States of Tara', and Ashton Kutcher's Contract

Jillian Michaels Is Leaving 'The Biggest Loser'jillian michaels

Fans of ‘The Biggest Loser’ were shocked when Jillian Michaels announced she would be leaving the show to focus on her family.  Could the show go on without her?  Could anyone else fill her running shoes?

Apparently it can.  And that someone is tennis star and Enrique Iglesias’ longtime girlfriend Anna Kournikova.

Kournikova knows all about being fit.  She’s been in the spotlight since debuting in the tennis world at just 15-years-old.  In 2002, ESPN named her Hottest Female Athlete.

Major changes are in the works for the show and Kournikova won’t be the only addition.  The athlete will be joining new trainers Brett Hoebel and Cara Castronuova.

It’s expected that the official announcement will be made after Tuesday’s season finale.

Showtime Picks Up ‘Nurse Jackie’ For Another Season and Will End 'United States of Tara'

Good news!  Showtime has picked up ‘Nurse Jackie’ for another season.  Bad news!  The network has decided that the current season of ‘United States of Tara’ will be its last - as it has been cancelled.

The series, which focuses on a woman with multiple personalities, is in its 3rd season.

It started off strong in the first season.  But, it seems that viewers just aren’t amused anymore.

An average of 326,000 viewers are now tuning into the show when it airs on Monday night and only 1.9 million are taking advantage of watching it as a rerun, On Demand, or on DVR.  That’s a whopping 30% lower than during the series’ first season!

'Nurse Jackie’ is also losing viewers.  But, it seems that the numbers aren’t quite low enough yet to warrant its demise.

Good thing Showtime has ‘The Borgias’ to bring in the viewers.  With 3.3 million people tuning in each week, it’s no surprise that there will be a second season.

Ashton Kutcher Only Signed To One-Year Deal For Two and a Half Men

We all know that Charlie’s out and Ashton Kutcher is in. But, it looks like CBS and Warner Bros. may not be completely comfortable with their decision because they’ve only signed Kutcher to a one-year deal.

While ‘Two and a Half Men’ execs have announced that they’d like to see the show keep going for another 2-3 years, they don’t seem to want to make any long-term plans for the new addition.

The show was renewed for two seasons before Charlie Sheen went just about insane.  After all of his craziness, its future was looking bleak.  But, it looked like all would be ok with Kutcher coming on board.  Which makes it so strange that they’d only sign him for a year.

Maybe it gives CBS leeway to look for a new actor if Kutcher doesn’t work out.  Or, maybe it gives the actor a way out if he doesn’t want to come back.

Either way, he makes out great in the deal, considering for at least one season he’ll be raking in around $750,000 per episode.
