Philly Fashionistas with Biana DeMarco

Don't you just love the opulence of jewel tone garments? The royal blues, deep purples, the beaming honey yellows.... It's like having a gemstone collection in your very own closet. And unless you've been living under a rock, you know that these vibrant colors are making a colossal comeback this Fall and guess what? They're looking to call your closet a home.

Designers like Zac Posen and Thakoon are only a few masters painting the town ruby red, citric orange and bold pink. But if going high-end is not an option, this season offers many affordable technicolor pieces.

Sizzling SkirtsRachel Roy Swing Skirt

Don't let the thought of the cooler months get you down. Expand your palette by indulging in punchy hues in a variety of fabulous styles this Fall; starting with a skirt. I personally love the Rachel Roy Swing Skirt, on sale now for $212, which comes in an amazing azure and a beautiful beetroot colors.

A bright skirt will be your perfect transition piece. Wear it with sandals and a blouse in the Summer and a sweater and booties in the Fall. These vibrant hues will brighten up your day and provide the perfect pop of color for any outfit.

Colorful Cropped Coat

Thakoon Addition Cropped Jacket in MustardA one of a kind gemstone colored jacket might just make the Fall seem a little brighter. As one of this season's must-have items, use it as an accent piece for any ensemble you think up. Be adventurous and wear it with other bright colors or keep it safe by donning it with neutral hues. Any way you wear it, this item is sure to make a sartorial statement.

My pick for the Fall is the unstructured mustard yellow Thakoon cropped jacket, $575. It is dressy enough to wear with a lovely dress and can be dressed down with jeans just as well. And did I mention the color is the epitome of perfection?

Rainbow Slack AttackAlice + Olivia High Waist Wide Leg Pants

Okay, so I chose a red pair, but trust me there are as many variations of gemstone colored pants as there are colors of the rainbow. Sharp and sweet at the same time, red trousers are just plain fun. After all, how many times can a girl wear a variation of the same black pants? Red is a great way to turn the mundane into exciting. Depending on your body type, pants in bold hues are available in a harem style, cropped, high-waited, and wide leg.

These delicious trousers look like they were handpicked from a cherry tree, Alice+Olivia really knows how to tickle our fancy with these red hot pants which are available for $198. If you're a globetrotter you may have noticed that the Europeans have been wearing bright colored pants long before they became popular in the States.

Top It Off With ColorParker Strapless Top

I actually tried this shirt on in white. What a difference color makes! This Parker Strapless Top, $187 is ideal with high-waisted bottoms where the ruffle can be tucked in or over low-rise pants to show off the frill.

This shirt (left) incorporates two of this Fall's hottest trends, jewel hues and peplum. It also has a unique banding and boning as part of the quilted bodice which will make anyone look slimmer. Sweetheart necklines are making a comeback and this shirt is a perfect example as to why. This top is girly and sexy and the color makes it a perfect 10.

This Fall will bring gemstone colors galore. But before you rush to buy, remember a few simple rules about bold hues. Keep it simple: Mixing sapphire, emerald, and ruby shades says tacky, not tasteful. If you are to mix, choose two solid colors and be certain that the styles of both garments look good with your complexion.

With this in mind, happy jewel-tone shopping!
