Eddy Murphy to Host Oscars in 2012

The 84th Academy Awards will be here before you know it.  And rumors have already been swirling about who will snag the hosting gig for the Eddie Murphyshow.

For a while nothing was announced about who would be hosting the latest awards show. It was being said that Billy Crystal was possibly in the running since he’s expressed interest in reprising his role as host.

But, the front-runner for the position was rumored to be Eddie Murphy.

The powers that be (at least in the case of the Academy Awards) met discuss the possibilities.

And this year’s host is…envelope please…Eddie Murphy!!

Should be interesting to see what the funnyman can bring to the show.

We’ll have to wait until February 26, 2012 to see.

Madonna Directing "W.E." Movie

Hey Madonna fans, it’s been a few years since the Material Girl has released a new album.  Since 2008, to be exact.
If you’ve been waiting for her to head back into the studio and start recording again, then you’ll be happy to know that your wait is over.

During a recent interview, the singer admitted that she’s been doing a little recording and plans to release a new single early next year.  The album, that doesn’t yet have a name, will follow in the spring.

If you want to get a Madonna fix while you wait, then you can check out “W.E.,” the movie that she’s directing about an English Prince who gives up his prospect at the throne in favor of an American divorcee.

Or, maybe not, considering it has gotten some pretty crappy reviews so far.  Whatever!

TNT Cancelling HawthoRNe

TNT has recently announced that it will not be picking up HawthoRNe for a fourth season!  Crazy, right?  It totally is considering how popular the show seemed to be.

The network released a statement thanking the cast and crew and wishing them the best.

Hmmmm…

It seems kind of weird that they’d cancel it out of the blue.  Perhaps the rumors swirling about the possible affair between Jada Pinkett Smith and Marc Anthony were just too much for the network to handle.  Or maybe there’s something behind it that they don’t want to share with the public just yet.

The cancellation won’t be too big of a blow for TNT, although you may think so since they also dropped the popular Men of a Certain Age earlier this year.  But, with Falling Skies, Rizzoli & Isles, and Franklin & Bash, as well as the upcoming reboot of Dallas, they won’t have any problems getting viewers to tune in.
