Independence Day 2012: July 4th Fireworks in The Philadelphia and Jersey Shore Areas

As most of the country deals with record-breaking droughts, wildfires (in Colorado), and sweltering temperatures (down south), people in the Southeast PA and Jersey areas were spared for the past few days, until tomorrow that is. Expect the hot and humid weather to descend upon our region this Fourth of July4th of july fireworks philly.

Temperatures were a rather tame 90 degrees over the past few days, but are expected to reach 95-plus tomorrow with high humidity. Thus, the chances for strong storms increase dramatically, which could alter fireworks shows.

Aside from parades and cookouts, fireworks displays are an equally important part of our Independence Day celebrations.

For those who are unable to make it down to Penn's Landing for the fireworks, or on The Parkway after Philadelphia at Wawa's "Welcome America" event, there are plenty of festivities happening on this July 4th.

Clifton Heights, Aston, Radnor, and Lansdowne will be holding their Fourth of July Fireworks shows in the evening.

Downingtown, Treddyfrin, and Phoenixville will also be holding their July 4th Fireworks shows on Wednesday evening.

Or if you're in the Pottstown area (which happens to be my hometown)- Pottstown will be holding their fireworks at Memorial Park at 10:00 P.M. on the 4th.

If you're looking to head down to the Jersey shore for a day, then here is a rundown of the fireworks displays everywhere from Atlantic City to Wildwood:

Ocean City: 9th Street Beach. July 4. Kite Flying competition and Fireworks at 5.

Sea Isle City: JFK Blvd & The Beach. July 4. Fireworks at dusk.

Stone Harbor: 80th Street Field. July 4. Fireworks and band concert, 9 pm.

Wildwood: The beach at Pine Ave. July 4. Fireworks at dusk.

Atlantic City: July 4. 9:30 pm.

Cape May: Congress Hall. July 4. Fireworks at 9:15.

Ventnor: Granville Avenue. July 4. Fireworks at 9 pm.

And, the fireworks won't stop on Independence Day, check out this site for Chester County's fireworks throughout this summer.
