The world was shocked and saddened to by Valerie Harper’s cancer announcement last week.  The actress revealed that not only does she have brain cancer, but it is also terminal and she has only a short time left to live.

During a recent Today Show interview with Savannah Guthrie, the Mary Tyler Moore Show alum said that the doctors have told her that she has around 3 to 6 months to live.  While most would spiral into a deep depression upon hearing this news, Harper has said that she is instead focusing on “infinite possibility” and hoping for “miracles.”

“Incurable is a tough word,” she said about the diagnosis, but also plans to stay as upbeat as possible.

“I’m not dying until I do. I promise I won’t.”

While she feels good about discussing her health with the world and also plans to live every second she has left to the fullest, she has said that she will also allow herself to grieve.

Matt Damon to reprise 'Bourne' role?

Fans of Jason Bourne probably thought it was a little odd when Jeremy Renner appeared in the most recent installment of the movie series instead of Matt Damon. They probably also wondered if Damon would once again return as the secret agent.Matt Dmaon and Emily Blunt in 'The Adjustment Bureau.' Photo courtesy of Universal.

While the idea of having multiple agents is pretty interesting, there’s just something about Matt Damon’s character that makes the movies just a little bit better.

Unfortunately no movie is in the works just yet. But, Damon has said that he would not rule out the possibility.

And hey, we might even get to see Damon and Renner on the big screen together.

Want to see him while you wait for this to come to fruition?  Check out the actor in the upcoming Behind the Candelabra, a film in which he plays Liberace’s surgically enhanced and drug-addled lover.  It’ll air on HBO on May 26th.

It looks like some hosting shakeups will happening in the next few months over at The View.
Joy Behar has announced that she will be leaving the show after hosting for 16 years.  Apparently her contract is set to expire in August and she has let the higher ups know that she will not be renewing it.

According to her rep, “Joy felt that 17 years on one show was enough.  She loved The View but felt that finding a home that would allow her to engage in more meaningful conversations was a direction she wanted to pursue.  She should be announcing a new venture in the coming months.”

There has also been some question as to whether or not Elisabeth Hasselbeck would also be leaving.  But, those rumors have been squashed by none other than Barbara Walters.

“There is a particularly false story that keeps getting picked up about Elisabeth’s alleged departure, saying that we don’t approve of her conservative views.  The truth is we love Elisabeth.  I like her personality and she’s just a wonderful person.  But beyond that, we value and appreciate her point of view because Elisabeth helps give this show perspective and balance, so we have no plans for Elisabeth to leave the show.”

Should be interesting to see who does at end up at the table when next season starts.
