It’s magic time again in Mystic Falls and Bonnie (Kat Graham) is all set to take down Silas while another member of the gang has a plan all her own. The episode begins with Elena (Nina Dobrev) crushing cinder blocks effortlessly while Stefan (Paul Wesley) tries to get Elena to rethink killing Katherine (Dobrev). Photo: CW

Deep in the woods, Bonnie catches up with Kat to inform her that for the entire day they will be linked together. In order for her to become immortal, Bonnie can’t risk the chance of Silas finding out her plan by getting into Katherine’s head. Later, Stefan and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) meet up with Sheriff Forbes to discover that while the blood banks have been empty after several instances of theft; someone has used another tactic by draining five patients from the hospital.

Since expression is one of the most powerful forms of magic, it involves all the elements of the earth which means a nice storm warning for Mystic Falls and causes a complete shutdown of the town’s power supply.  Investigating this random forecast, Stefan discovers the three places that have lost power are connected to the expression triangle which means Bonnie is somewhere in the middle.

Hello Old Friend

While searching for Bonnie, Elena also uses this opportunity to hunt for Katherine. Using the tombstone filled with the blood of Qetsiyah, Bonnie channels the energy causing the tombstone to bleed. The spell is now complete and the veil is down. We meet up with our first ghost, who brings a smile to Damon’s face when he sees its no other than Alaric (Matt Davis). While the rest of the group is preoccupied with revenge and witches, Rebekah (Claire Holt), uses this opportunity to get closer to Matt (Zach Roerig) until her brother Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) enters ready to kill someone. Sadly for Matt, he just happens to also be caught in the middle of the supernatural drama that occurs in this city when he is hit with a shard of glass from Kol. Disregarding any help from Rebekah, Matt tells her that “People in this town have a bad habit of turning into vampires and I’d like to graduate a human.” If anyone would understand this humble response, it would be Rebekah, and refrains from trying to heal him with her blood. On her way to find a first aid kit, she see’s Caroline (Candice Accola) completely compelled by Silas and cutting her wrists. Photo: CW

There’s No Rest for the Wicked

Bonnie continues to channel for Qetsiyah until Katherine notices some strange noises coming from the basement (with the little bit of slack that she is given to find out what is going on). Not realizing the two are linked, Elena finds Katherine and gets pretty close to killing the both of them. Though Elena did not succeed in killing Katherine, Silas who is always one step closer reveals his discovery of Bonnie’s plan to take him down. Getting into her head, Silas allows Bonnie to believe the air around her is unattainable. Crossing into the other side, Grams steps in to help her focus.

Taking some time to find a little clarity, Elena visits Jeremy’s grave and apologizes for everything that has happened. Kol eventually catches up to Elena and tries to kill her. A shot is fired at Kol, and it’s no other than Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) holding a stake gun to protect his sister. With the help of Grams, Bonnie channels all of her energy and takes Silas down by turning him into stone. Bonnie gives Elena and Jeremy time to reconnect and to say goodbye. Somber that everyone else has reunited with their loved ones, Stefan hoped to have met up with his bff Lexi who later gives a soap opera like entrance and greets him with a warm hug. Bonnie reveals to Grams that she has the power to keep Jeremy on earth and is using every element good and bad to complete the spell. However, the power was too much for her to handle and our favorite witch is found dead inside of the triangle. Which means the veil is still down and anyone could still cross over into Mystic Falls.
