Star Wars and Shakespeare? Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett reuniting, Anna Paquin names baby

Star Wars and Shakespeare?

Perhaps you remember a few years back when a classic novel was given a modern makeover by adding zombies to the mix. I do. In fact, I bought and read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and enjoyed it just as much as I did the original.

Now another odd literary/pop culture pairing has been announced.  This time the mashup included Shakespeare and Star Wars.

Yep, that’s right, soon we’ll see William Shakespeare’s Star Wars on bookstore shelves.

According to Amazon, “Return once more to a galaxy far, far away with this sublime retelPhoto: www.hollywoodreporter.comling of George Lucas’s epic Star Wars in the style of the immortal Bard of Avon. The saga of a wise (Jedi) knight and an evil (Sith) lord, of a beautiful princess held captive and a young hero coming of age, Star Wars abounds with all the valor and villainy of Shakespeare’s greatest plays. ’Tis a tale told by fretful droids, full of faithful Wookiees and fearstome Stormtroopers, signifying...pretty much everything.

Reimagined in glorious iambic pentameter—and complete with twenty gorgeous Elizabethan illustrations--William Shakespeare’s Star Wars will astound and edify Rebels and Imperials alike. Zounds! This is the book you’re looking for.”

Sounds interesting!  I’d read this!

Unfortunately the book won’t be released until July 2nd, but you can pre-order it now.

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett reuniting

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett paired up in 2011 to record “The Lady is a Tramp” for Duets II.  Although it seemed like a strange pairing, it worked and the song was actually pretty good.

It looks like the duo loved working together so much and their music was so well received that they will once again be getting together for a fun collaboration.

The 86-year-old singer told E! News that he and Lady Gaga would be getting together in about a week or so to create an album unlike anything you’ve heard from her before.

“She’s actually a very wonderful singer and we’re going to go with a lot of big, swinging jazz songs…to show everybody she really knows how to sing beautifully,” Bennett said.

As of right now the name of the album and its release date are unknown.  But, it sounds like it will definitely be worth a listen or two.

Anna Paquin names baby

Not too many celebrities successfully manage to keep their private lives out of the media.  But Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have somehow managed to do just that—at least when it comes to revealing the names of their babies.

It’s been nine months since the arrival of their twins and fans of both the couple and True Blood have been waiting with bated breath for their names to be announced.

Well, the wait is over, because Moyer finally let the name slip during a recent interview.

He mentioned that his older daughter, Lilac, would be at camp this weekend, but he would be spending Father’s Day with Paquin “hanging out with Charlie and Poppy.”

Awww—cute names for two cute babies!

What do you think—was the not-so-big reveal worth the wait?
