Sharknado sequel announced, Regis Philbin returns, Tamera Mowry-Housley’s secret

Sharknado sequel announced

I must admit that I haven’t seen Sharknado yet.  In fact, I laughed hysterically when I saw the ridiculous preview.  But apparently the Syfy movie has become an instant hit.  So much so, in fact, that the channel has already greenlighted a sequel.Photo: Fastcomapny.com

I kid you not.

While the first movie saw the tornado of sharks wreaking havoc on the west coast, the next movie will target NYC.

“Every once in a while, there is a perfect storm—on television.  The fans are clamoring for a sequel.  Or perhaps it will be a prequel,” said Thomas Vitale, Syfy’s Executive VP of

Programming and Original Movies.  “What we can guarantee is that Sharknado 2 will be lots of fun.”

As if that weren’t news enough, Syfy is holding a contest via Twitter to find a lucky winner who can come up with the best subtitle for the the tentatively titled Sharknado 2.  Simply tweet your witty suggestions to @SyfyMovies and use the hashtag #Sharknado.

Sharknado 2 is expected to air in 2014.

Have you missed Regis Philbin since he left Live with Regis and Kelly two years ago.  Well, if you have, then you will be thrilled to know that he will once again be returning to television.

Philbin will be hosting Crowd Goes Wild, a talk show that will soon be airing on Fox Sports 1.

The show will air at 5 p.m. daily and will feature a panel (that has not yet been revealed) lead by Philbin.

“We’ve got a nice little panel of people together, a lot of friends,” he said about his new gig.

“And if a celebrity like George Clooney comes to town with a movie, we’ll play clips from his movie—but we’ll also talk to George, who grew up in Cincinnati, about his sports roots, like if he’s still a big Reds fan.”

“I’m happy to be a part of sports TV,” he also added.  “If you look at the ratings, that’s what’s on top.  Sports is the biggest hit TV has these days.  It’s all there on the field, pal.”

Tamera Mowry-Housley’s secret

There are so many stories about stars being promiscuous and jumping from partner to partner, or having a slew of personal issues, or having drama follow the wherever they go.  So it’s pretty refreshing to hear about a star who has not only managed to fly under the radar, but has also managed to stay wholesome and stick to her beliefs when so many people around her are not.

Tamera Mowry-Housley, one part of the Mowry twins who soared to fame on the show Sister Sister, has recently made quite an admission.

She didn’t lose her virginity until she was 29!

“I don’t know to explain this.  I’m religious, so I waited until I was 29 to lose my virginity,” she revealed during a recent interview on HOT 97.  “You may not understand this [but] I did it, then I felt guilty, then I became celibate until I got married.”

The actress married Adam Housley, a Fox News correspondent, in 2011 and the couple welcomed a son, Aden John Tanner Housley, this past November.
