Over all the drama from their exes, Caroline (Candice Accola) decides to throw a bitter ball to help her and Elena (Nina Dobrev) move on, while Damon (Ian Somerhalder) continues to act out by going on a killing spree with Enzo (Michael Malarkey). Concerned for his brother, Stefan (Paul Wesley) stays close, since Damon’s behavior is not at all uncommon. Dr. Wes (Rick Cosnett) continues to lure helpless students by turning them into vampires. However, due to lack of finances, his only option is to team up with Sloan (Caitlin McHugh) a traveler offering to fund his experiments. Sloan shows Wes Aaron’s (Shaun Sipos) bag with Damon’s blood to analyze. Realizing his brother is dead, Wes accepts her offer.  Damon and Enzo kidnap Officer Diane (Sabrina Mayfield) to find where Wes is hiding. Stefan finally decides to step in by threatening Enzo to stay far away from Damon. Photo: CW

While drowning his sorrows, Tyler notices Nadia (Olga Fonda) is using Matt (Zach Roerig) for information by compelling him. Stefan wants to find a way to tell Elena (Katherine) that her friend Aaron is dead.

However, he knows when he does tell her she will never forgive Damon for what he did. With no luck on finding Wes, Damon and Enzo decide to use a different tactic. Damon threatens Bonnie (Kat Graham) to use magic and track Wes’ location. If she fails to fulfill his request, Enzo will murder Jeremy. Bonnie reaches out to Liv (Penelope Mitchell), a fellow classmate to help her complete the spell (since she no longer can use magic once she became an anchor).

Bonnie tries to help her friend find the courage to complete the spell.  It appears that magic is completely foreign to her, to which she fears she has no control. Though Bonnie offers to help Liv, Damon’s demands are still not met. Enzo decides to take matters into his own hands and kill Jeremy.

Luckily, Stefan and Katherine come in just in time saving his life. Stefan is tired of Damon’s behavior and warns him to never return home. With not much time, Wes is prepared to take down Damon by using Sloan and her team of travelers. Katherine takes a moment to ask Stefan his true feelings for Elena. It is apparent Stefan has been watching Damon from the sidelines hoping he would eventually pick up the pieces when Damon screws up.  “After a while I stopped waiting for him to fail because I liked the person that he had become, and I don’t want to lose that person” Stefan confesses. Wes also uses the same experiment that was used on Jesse. His way of getting revenge on all vampires is by getting them to feed off of each other. This may later be a problem for Enzo.
