About: Rockhill is a South Philly food connoisseur’s dream. The establishment incorporates all the elements of classic pizzas, strombolis, hot sandwiches, burgers, cheesesteaks, hoagies, finger food, salads and milkshakes, into a unique variety of flavorful combinations matched by very few eateries in the Tri-State area.Rockhill restaurant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey

Atmosphere:  The interior of Rockhill’s brand new building is clean and spacious for seating, while the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. With its high ceiling, counter seating and multiple wall televisions, it could fit easily pass for an upscale a Northern Liberties diner. That’s a good thing.

Price Range: The most expensive item on the Rockhill menu is the 16 inch Prime pizza (Pepperoni, Sausage, FLX Wienery Italian Sausage, Bacon, Virginia Baked Ham, Meatball), which is priced at $18. Pizzas are also served in small (8in) and medium size (12 in), and feature red sauce made from fresh Jersey tomatoes. The average hot sandwich is priced at $8.50, while a large cheesesteak is $10.50. A large hoagie and the majority of the Cast Iron Burgers are roughly priced at $10.

Noteworthy:

-The rolls from Rockhill are baked fresh daily from Conshohocken Bakery.

-Any sandwich from Rockhill that comes on any kind of bread can be made on a gluten free roll.

-Any fried food on the menu is cooked with buckwheat flour.Montreal cheesesteak

-Any meat available at the restaurant is grinded fresh daily by the Rockhill staff.

-Any mushrooms available on a sandwich are freshly sauteed from Kennett Square.

Recommendations: The Montreal cheesesteak (complete with gravy and crinkle-cut fries) along with some Lumberjack Vegetable Soup is tough to beat. The Brisket Sandwich (Bubbe’s Braised Brisket, Caramelized Onions, Horseradish, Mayo, Fry Sauce, served on an optional Potato Roll) and some freshly squeezed lemonade is also a can’t miss.

Final verdict: Rockhill had some big shoes to fill after Big John’s closed its doors several years ago. However, with a menu filled with a wide variety of selections combined with quality food and an experienced managerial staff, Rockhill is a winner. Try it!
