Jackson Browne entertains at Atlantic City’s Borgata

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa recently welcomed singer-songwriter Jackson Browne for a weekend concert. The 67-year-old entertainer has sold more than 18-million albums in the United States since hitting the music scene in the 1960’s. Browne has written and recorded songs such as “These Days,” “The Pretender,” “Running on Empty,” “Lawyers in Love,” “Doctor My Eyes,” “Take It Easy” (made famous by the Eagles) “For a Rocker,” and “Somebody's Baby.” Photo: www.baranstrategies.com

During his sold-out Atlantic City concert, Browne played a full collection of hits. With his down-to-Earth personality, he casually spoke to the audience, took requests from fans and even asked security personnel guarding the stage to turn-around and enjoy the concert.

Browne’s self-titled debut album was released in January, 1972. Since his initial release, he has released fourteen studio albums and four collections of live performances. His most recent studio album, “Standing In The Breach,” is a collection of ten songs, highlighting deeply personal and political subjects while exploring themes of love and hope, in a modern world.

Through the years, Browne defined a genre of songwriting focusing on honesty, emotion and politics. After the Three Mile Island accident took place In March 1979, he founded the antinuclear organization, Musicians United for Safe Energy with several friends from the music industry, including Bonnie Raitt and John Hall. Additionally, Browne has continued to provide exclusive music tracks for various charity and benefit albums.

In 2004, Browne was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, and received an Honorary Doctorate of Music by Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. In 2007, he was inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.

While his songs have become commercially successful, Jackson Browne prides himself on always staying true to his beliefs as an advocate on behalf of the environment.
