Temple finally got over the hump this year by making it out of the first round of the NCAA Tournament by defeating Penn State on Thursday. Furthermore, Temple coach Fran Dunphy finally won his first game in the NCAA Tournament as a college coach.

Sadly, Temple's run ended tonight when they lost to #2 seed San Diego State 71-64 in double overtime.

Temple's Ramone Moore scored 17 points in the double overtime defeat. And, San Diego State's Billy White had 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Temple University can hang their hats on the fact that they took San Diego State to the brink. Unfortunately they couldn't do what Butler did tonight and that's pull of a huge upset. Pittsburgh once again choked in the tournament to last year's Final Four runner-up Butler.
