The 2011 NCAA Final Four got underway tonight as Butler outlasted VCU 70-62 to make it back to the National Championship game.

Butler's squad (led by coach Brad Stevens) came within 2 points to beat Duke last year, but have another shot to take home the prize this year.

VCU was the proverbial cinderella team this year, making it to the Final Four as an 11th seed. It marked the first time since the field expanded to 64 that an 11 seed (VCU) faced an 8th seed in Butler.

VCU head coach Shaka Smart has vaulted himself into elite coaching company in just his second season. Smart is also one of the youngest coaches in the NCAA at just 33 years old.

Butler's Matt Howard led the Bulldogs down the stretch. Howard finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Butler will take on the winner of the Kentucky-UCONN semi-final game. UCONN currently leads Kentuck 27-19 with 4 minutes to go in the 1st half.
