Manny Ramirez has called it quits on his 19-year career after testing positive for performance enhancing drugs (otherwise known as PEDS) for a second time. The phrase "Manny Being Manny" was always uttered whenever Manny Ramirez did his own thing.

Ramirez is a player who always marched to the beat of his own drum. And, when told he would face a 100-game suspension, he threw in the towel on an otherwise brilliant career.

However, he now will go down as a fraud and not one of the greatest hitters in history. When you look at Manny Ramirez's overall statistics they are sick: lifetime .312 average, 555 homeruns, 1500 runs, and 1800 RBI. Only Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds, and Manny Ramirez had as many homeruns and had an OPS over 1.000. Turns out Babe Ruth is the only one who wasn't a fraud.

Manny Ramirez joins a list of frauds which include Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, and Rafael Palmeiro.

The shame of it is - millions including myself were led to believe Manny was the real deal. In his prime, he was the most dominant hitter in the game. Back in 2008 when he was traded to the Dodgers he hit nearly .400 during that second-half run. He torched the Phillies in the NLCS, but we ultimately triumphed. Even then I thought he was for real.

Turns out Manny was just being Manny, but not the Manny we thought he was.
