The holidays are over, and baby it’s cold outside! What’s better than sitting in front of your cozy fireplace, enjoying a nice glass of wine and your beautifully appointed home … that is, unless you’re like 99% of the population whose home (not to mention garden) could use some serious help. Worry not: relief is on the way in the form of the Philadelphia Home Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. From Saturday, January 14 through Sunday, January 22 browse thousands of exciting products and services, over 500 interesting industry experts, three exciting theme nights featuring local cuisine and libations, a jam-packed family fun day and a brand new marketplace full of unique furniture and accessories.

“This is our 31st year and the event is bigger and better than ever,” says Alyson Caplan, Director, Philadelphia Home Show. “We have HGTV celebrities, exciting demonstrations and amazing design rooms, just to mention a few of the spectacular attractions. You’ll be seeing cutting edge trends in the home and garden industry, just in time to plan for springtime improvements.”

Here are some of the 2012 Home Show Highlights:  With his energetic personality, Todd Davis of HGTV's Room Crashers will leave people motivated to take on even the most difficult landscaping and design projects. During his appearance at the Philadelphia Home Show January 14th and 15th, Davis will teach attendees how to create dynamic environments and timeless designs both indoors and out.

  • Kimberly Lacy of HGTV’s Curb Appeal:  The Block will also be present at this year’s big event on January 21st and 22nd.  Lacy, known for her spunky design, will inspire attendees with her passion and artisan paint tips and tricks.  When she’s not on TV, she spends time rehabilitating homes for people in need by bringing awareness to impoverished communities.

  

  • Attendees can also visit four specially-created Design Rooms, where local media personalities are paired with designers to create the space of their dreams. New this year is “Clover Market at the Home Show.” Packed with a carefully curated selection of vintage furniture and accessories from the region's best dealers and finely handcrafted work from local artisans, the market is a must-shop destination.   • There will be fun for the whole family on Martin Luther King Day, January 16th, including special guest Strawberry Shortcake. John Cassidy, the “Balloon Freak,” will entertain audiences of all ages with his unbelievable and world-record balloon-sculpting talent.  There will also be a Green Screen for fun photos:  pose for amusing shots in a variety of interesting themed backgrounds.

 

  • Rolling Barrel Events will be producing three themed evening celebrations under the banner of “Love Local,” featuring the area’s best wines, spirits and food. The fun starts Tuesday, January 17 with “Cocktails Made Easy,” followed by Wednesday’s “Local Wine & Cheese Pairings” and ends on Thursday with a unique “Beer & Cookies” event.

 

  • This year’s show promises to highlight more GREEN than you have ever seen.  Attend EnergyWork’s sessions on Home Energy Efficiency 101 in conjunction with the US Department of Energy Better Buildings program, and learn how featured green products can mean dollars in your pocket and a healthier world for everyone.

 

Need to get organized? Find out how to regain order from chaos with Totally Organized’s founder and expert Janet Taylor, who will teach attendees how to create a home free of clutter. Also, visitors can make sure their houses are super-safe with Xfinity’s home security demo. Finally – if you’re lucky – catch a glimpse of Philadelphia’s favorite mascot, the Philly Phanatic, on January 21-22.

Do they still have showrooms?

Do they still have showrooms? just wanna get to know what their vintage furniture are... I am in need of old 1950 era doors that maybe they have those.. I asked http://caldwells.com/interior-doors/traditional-doors but their old overstock doors are all sold.. lastly when I visited them they have those vintage type of door.
