Gilbert Arenas charged with felony gun possession by D.C. Police

Washington Wizards' guard Gilbert Arenas has been charged with felony gun possession per the Washington Post.

And, kudos to the authorities for charging him.

The Wizards' $120 million man (waste of money) played the gun incident off as a prank and acted like nothing was wrong.

What really killed me is that when Antawn Jamison and some teammates pointed their fingers at eachother like they were pointing guns at one another prior to a game. Further proof that NBA players are living in a fantasy-land and need to be sent a message. And, for some reason Jamison wasn't among those fined.

The official charge is as follows per USA Today:

Arenas was charged with carrying a pistol without a license outside of a home or business, stemming from the incident in late December at Verizon Center. The charge carries a sentence of up to five years if convicted.

While many supporters will say the authorities are targeting him; we're not talking about an angel here.  Sources say that Arenas owns hundreds of guns.

If you read my piece on Arenas then you will see that I'm not a fan of his.  I don't think his ilk belongs anywhere near or on a basketball court.  Arenas is the epitome of a sport gone to hell in a hand basket, in the NBA.

Hopefully now, the legal process will solve this problem and send a message to NBA players that this type of digusting behavior won't be tolerated.
