Hope for Haiti Now raises $58 million and sets new standard for telethons


It's official, Hope for Haiti Now is a smashing success.  As the numbers come in, they are clocking in at $58 million and counting.

The telethon organized by George Clooney and Wyclef Jean is 2010's answer to We are the World, which is due to celebrate it's 25th anniversary.

Hope for Haiti Now will be accepting donations for the next six months and the album is on sale on Itunes for $7.99.

With the momentum HFHN has going, the telethon could raise hundreds of millions.  And, Haiti's people need everything they can get.
