Philadelphia Fans Get Black Eye When Phillies Fan Vomits on Girl and Cop

It seems like we can't go a month in Philadelphia without an idiot fan giving everybody a bad name.  In previous years, a minority of Eagles fans would make all Philadelphia fans look bad with low-rent behavior.

I witnessed it myself at the 2004 NFC Championship game when a couple Eagles fans were spitting on some Carolina Panthers fans who were celebrating the victory.  Sure, it was a horrible loss, but is that reason to spit on somebody?

Now, there is a growing minority of moronic, drunken, college-aged fans who go to Phillies games for the sole purpose of getting trashed and starting up fights.

Once again Philadelphia fans have received a black eye when a Phillies fan vomited on an off-duty police officer and his daughter Wednesday night at the Phillies game.

The national media is wasting little time to point out how horrific Philadelphia fans can be.

USA Today writes, "Philadelphia has always been known for having tough crowds, but bad fan behavior drunken phillies fanthere may have hit a new low at a Phillies game this week. There, a 21-year-old fan allegedly vomited intentionally on the 11-year-old daughter of an off-duty cop."

Thus, continues the national perception that Philadelphia fans are lowrent, filthy, bottom feeders, which couldn't be further from the truth.

Philadelphia fans you can thank Matthew Clemmens (the punk shown on the right), a 21-year-old from South Jersey for perpetuating the perception that we are awful, violent sports fans.

Clemmens has been charged is being held on $36,000 bail.  Hopefully he rots in jail.

The Philadelphia Police need to take the iniative here and start rounding up these drunken clowns and take them into the basement of City Hall and give them the Frank Rizzo-style "treatment."

A message needs to be sent that this abominable behavior cannot be tolerated.
