The event, which was presented by ModSpace, featured 1,135 guests and showcased some of the finest culinary samples from the area’s best eating and drinking establishments.

CTO provided the entertainment with their diverse catalog of songs ranging from Motown, R&B, and classic rock. Among some of the notable guests were former Eagle Vince Papale, Fox 29’s Karen Hepp, Sixer Andre Igodaula, and poker player Beth Shak.

When guests weren’t dancing the night away, they could be found exploring the museum’s exhibits or chatting with Philadelphia’s social and business leaders.

‘The Bistro at Our Town’ in Exton, PA were voted winners of the best tasting food and presentation for the event. The Red Ball committee, led by Director of Communications Dave Schrader, maintained a perfect balance of entertaining guests while emphasizing the mission of the Red Cross and the everyday work of its volunteers.

Donna Palmieri, interim CEO and longtime Chief Operating Officer of the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA), addressed the crowd expressing her gratitude towards the event supporters.  Palmieri, who started out as a volunteer with the organization, thinks that events such as Red Ball take on more meaning each year as a result of these trying times.

“It’s a wonderful feeling because every year there are more disasters, and people need us more than ever before,” says Palmieri. “Events like this help us to raise the money and visibility for those people who aren’t able to speak for themselves.”

The date for the 2012 Red Ball hasn't been set, but  http://www.theredball.org/ or facebook.com/redcrossphilly will keep you informed when any announcements will be made.

The Red Ball is the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter’s signature event for Red Cross Month. Every president since Franklin Roosevelt – in 1943 – has deemed March as National Red Cross Month.
