Eagles Trade Kevin Kolb, Sign Jason Babin, and Vince Young

Big day yesterday for the Eagles as the NFL free agency period is beginning to get wild. The Eagles traded backup QB Kevin Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a 2nd round pick.

The move not only solifies their cornerback positions, but it provides them with a high draft pick. And, with the new CBA rules, draft picks have even more value than before due to the rookie wage scale, which guarantees teams won't have to deal with holdouts in camp.

Later on yesterday, the Eagles signed defensive end Jason Babin who played for the Eagles two season ago. Babin left the Birds for Tennessee and had a career year with 12 sacks under Jim Washburn, who is now the Eagles' new defensive line coach. The Eagles are banking on Babin to have the same success under Washburn this year.

And, just this morning - the Eagles agreed to terms with Vince Young, who was released by the Tennessee Titans on Thursday.

Vince Young provides the Eagles with the best-available back-up QB on the market. The Eagles signed Young to a 1-year deal, which gives him plenty of incentive to hone his skills and play for his next contract. Michael Vick stated that he looks forward to the challenge of mentoring Vince Young.

Phillies Lose to Giants Again...Losing 4-1

It's pretty safe to say that the Giants have the Phillies' number at this point.  They are to the Eagles what the Tampa Bay Bucs were to the Eagles in 2002 and 2003. At least the Phillies have a championship to savor.

But, with the way the Giants have manhandled the Phillies' offense - this may go down as one of the biggest disappointments in Philly sports history should the Phillies fail to reach the World Series. The only saving grace from this series is that neither Roy Halladay or Cliff Lee pitched against Matt Cain or Tim Lincecum. The Giants had a huge advantage with the pitching mismatches. Perhaps the outcome would have been different

Regardless, the Phillies' bats have no answer for either of the Giants aces.

The Phillies dropped game 3 in the 3-game series against the Giants last night and are now 3-6 against the Giants in the last 9 games against them including the NCLS.

Chris Christie Doing OK After Being Rushed to Hospital

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie had a little scare yesterday when he had trouble breathing. He was then rushed to Somerset Medical Center.

Turns out that Governor Christie suffered an asthma attack and he'll be fine. Doctors ran a battery of tests including blood tests and EKG and he'll be fine.

Governor Christie has been suffering from asthma since he was 15 years old.
