Philadelphia Catholic Schools Appeal Closings

Last week, the Philadelphia Archdiocese decided to close numerous Catholic schools in the Philadelphia area. This has been devastating for parents, students, teachers, and entire communities.

Now several Philadelphia Catholic Schools are appealing the Archiocese's decision.

During the appeals session, the Review Committee will go over all the information the Blue Ribbon Commission used to make its closure/merger recommendations. School administrators will then have the opportunity to present their case with facts and documents.

Should they lose their appeals, the following closings and mergers will go down

Sixers' 6-Game Winning Streak Comes to an End

All good things must come to an end as they say and for the Philadelphia 76ers it did last night. Their 6-game winning streak ended against the New York Knicks with a 85-79 defeat. Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner led the way with 16 points each.

The Sixers came out of the gates like a house on fire this season, starting out 7-2 with six straight victories. Finally after 8 long years of mediocrity, following Larry Brown's resignation, this Sixers team looks like a playoff contender. The Sixers are fun to watch again.

They will look to get back on a winning streak tomorrow night when they take on the Washington Wizards.
