Phillies Prepare for Playoffs Next Week

The Phillies have locked up the division and will face the Giants next Wednesday in the playoffs. Not exactly the best matchup we could have hoped for. Personally I'd rather them go up against Mat Latos than two-time Cy Young winner Tim Linceum.

East Coast Storm Means Business...Tropical Storm Nicole moving out

After weeks of having literally no rain in the Philadelphia region, we can't get enough of it. The epic east coast storm continued through Thursday night and brought much more rain in the region. Lancaster County declared a state of emergency and many other areas in Southeast PA were hit with 3-5 inches of rain. The Schuylkill River is expected to crest at 7 P.M. Friday evening and major flooding will occur in Reading. Much of the area is flooded as Tropical Storm Nicole moves out of our area this morning.

All Eyes on Eagles as McNabb Returns

Donovan McNabb will face the Eagles for the first time since being traded in April. The great Michael Vick-Donovan McNabb debate rages on. The Eagles and Redskins face off at 4:15 on Sunday. Andy Reid, Michael Vick, and Donovan McNabb have all chimed in on the McNabb saga. McNabb doesn't expect to be booed on Sunday. 610 WIP's Angelo Cataldi is planning to organize the "Dirty 30" to go to the Redskins-Eagles game on Sunday to give McNabb a final booing. These are the same people who booed him in the 1999 Draft. Check in later today for my thoughts on this publicity stunt by Cataldi.

And, now the roundup...

Comedian Greg Giraldo sadly passed away from an accidental drug overdose suffered on Saturday. Tyler Clementi's classmates so far haven't been charged with murder. A new planet may have been discovered that can sustain life.

Finally, 93.3 WMMR's Preston and Steve will be up at the haunted house at Pennhurst tonight in Spring City from 7 to 9 PM. Don't miss it!
