Thanksgiving 2010 Is Here: What To Do If you Don't Know How to Cook Your Butterball Turkey

Ok, Thanksgiving is here folks. We at Philly2Philly.com are here to help if you're in panic mode and don't know what to do. Hopefully you have thawed out your turkey by now. If not, you better follow these instructions to thaw it in water so you can get dinner underway in a reasonable amount of time. Figure on 30 minutes of thawing time per pound. Are you in panic mode and not sure how to cook your Butterball (or other brand) turkey? Fear not - it's not that arduous of a task. You just have to make sure it's thawed. Simply preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Glaze the turkey with butter on the outside. Take out the innerds from behind and place the stuffing inside. Then, follow these turkey roasting instructions based on the size of the bird. If it's a 14 to 18 pound bird figure on 3 to 3 1/2 hours of roasting time or 3 3/4 to 4 1/2 hours if it has stuffing. It's not too late to get Thanksgiving dinner finished in time, if you haven't gotten started roasting your turkey yet!

Not enough Time to Roast? Try Deep Frying Your Turkey

Maybe you are up against it and don't have the time to roast, or you want to mix it up and try something different for Thanksgiving dinner this year. By all mens, try the deep-fried turkey method. My brother harnesses this method every year for Thanksgiving dinner and it always makes for an awesome, moist turkey. If you have a large stock pot or turkey fryer, figure on about 3 1/2 minutes per deep frying time if you're going with the deep-fried turkey method. Therefore, if you have a 20 pound turkey, it should take you around 70 minutes - or just over an hour.
