Phillies Shock the World and Sign Cliff Lee to 5-year Deal

The Phillies shocked the baseball world last night and reportedly signed Cliff Lee to a 5-year $100 million deal with an option for a 6th year. Not only did this move literally come out of nowhere, but it's also an unprecedented move by a major league team. The Cliff Lee sweepstakes appeared to be a 2-team race between Texas and the Yankees and suddenly a "mystery team" emerged last night. The Phillies now have four aces in their rotation, which arguably makes their starting rotation the strongest in baseball history. Lee also took less money and less years to come to Philadelphia, which proves the effect Phillies fans can have on players when they are winners. On the flip side, the incident involving Yankees fans spitting on Cliff Lee's wife may have swayed him to sign with Philadelphia.

Cowboys Tashard Choice Asks for Michael Vick's Autograph

Cowboys running back Tashard Choice gave a big middle finger to his fans following their loss to the Eagles Sunday night when he asked for Michael Vick's autograph. Choice claimed it was for his nephew. Whether that's true or not, it's a violation of violations to ask for an autograph of your opponent.

Joe Blanton Trade Imminent Following Cliff Lee Signing

Once the Phillies announce on their website that Cliff Lee has been inked to the 5-year deal, expect Joe Blanton to be traded. Rumor is Joe Blanton will be traded to the Boston Red Sox.
