The Omelette Saturday July 31, 2010 Edition

Roy Oswalt's debut is rather mediocre

Roy Oswalt gave up four earned runs in six innings in his Phillies debut in Washington last night. Things got off to a bad start when he surrendered a triple to start the game. Ultimately the Phillies got hammered 8-1. Not a good start for Roy Oswalt. The Phillies will look to get back on track tonight against the Nationals at 7:05.

Snooki and Jersey Shore Cast Get Way Too Much Media Attention

We won't feed the sickness of the Jersey Shore fans at Philly2Philly.com. Rather let's just point out that it's pretty crazy to see the Jersey Shore cast getting so much media attention in Philly. On NBC10 last night, Snooki's arrest in Seaside Heights was the top story! Snooki has become so important in the local media's eyes, that they're willing to report on her arrest before the BP oil spill, shootings, and other "real" news. that's just crazy. The media is just feeding the monster.

Matthew Clemmens sentenced for vomiting

Matthew Clemmens, the infamous Phillies fan who projectile vomited on an off-duty police officer at a Phillies game was finally sentenced yesterday. The perp was sentenced to 30 to 90 days in the joint and will have to serve 50 hours community service for his party foul.

Philly Cop charged in bar theft

Officer Kenneth Crockett, a 26-year veteran of the Philadelphia police force was charged with stealing $825 from Pat's Cafe in the Frankford section of Philly. He was suspended with the intent to dismiss. As if that's not enough punishment, his family had him admitted to a mental institution. He brought it all upon himself though.
