Cole Hamels' Scoreless Innings Streak Extended to 25 Innings

Cole Hamels pitched 7 scoreless innings last night to extend his scoreless innings streak to 25 innings and also received plenty of run support. The Phillies were up 10-0 at one point last night, but the Marlins scored 6 runs to make it a 10-6 game. The Braves kept pace with the Phillies, knocking off the Pirates 9-3. The Phillies remain 1/2 game ahead of the Braves in the NL East.

Cockfighting Ring Busted in Philly

An illegal (should we even say that) cockfighting ring was busted in North Philadelphia yesterday. 23 birds were recovered from the home and one person is under arrest.

Philadelphia Police Accused of Brutality in a Video

A video was recorded recently of Philadelphia Police Officer allegedly using excessive force on a young man. The man accuses the police officers of beating him. A video was taken on a cellphone and NBCPhiladelphia posted it on their site. The Philadelphia PD insists the man tried to grab an officer's gun, which justified the force.
