Steelers Knock Off Jets To Advance To Third Super Bowl in Six Years

The Steelers knocked off the Jets last night 24-19 in the AFC Championship game, despite a second-half surge from the Jets - who scored 19 unanswered points. The Steelers have a chance to win their third Super Bowl since 2006. They will face the Green Bay Packers, who won three straight road games to advance.

The Steelers Organization is Everything The Eagles Fans Could Hope For

The Pittsburgh Steelers are everything the Philadelphia Eagles and fans wish they could be. It's sickening, but admit it Eagles fans - the Steelers organization is a well-oiled machine. They have the great defensive-minded coach in Mike Tomlin and a QB in Ben Roethlisberger, who doesn't choke and gets the job done. If would behoove the Eagles to change their philosophy and steal some pages from the Steelers' playbook. Otherwise, they'll continue to be what they are and that's a perennial "one-and-done" playoff team.

It doesn't appear likely they will ever win a title with Andy Reid as coach and key decision-maker on personnel decisions. Maybe when they finally do turn the page from the Andy Reid era, they will get a defensive-minded coach and one who places importance on linebackers and dominant defensive linemen. Face it people, what you see is what you get with Andy Reid in place. Contrary to what Philadelphia Inquirer's Bob Ford said in reference to the Packers' advancing to the Super Bowl, it could not "have been us." The Eagles' defense was abysmal this year and that's what wins championships.

Frigid Weather To End Soon in Philadelphia Area

2011 is just 24 days old and already this winter is on par with last year's brutal winter. It seems like we have two snowstorms each week which are timed with the morning commute. And, the past four days we've experienced Minnesotta-type weather with temperatures reaching below zero this morning in many parts north and west of Philadelphia! Well, it's about to end. Tomorrow, the temps will get into the 30's and Wednesday it may actually rain. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it does rain, because guess what - this storm is supposed to hit during the morning rush hour AGAIN.

On the bright side, winter is already halfway over. Spring begins in 57 days.
