Occupy Philly Protestors Evicted in the Middle of the Night

During the middle of the night, the Philadelphia Police Department has evicted the Occupy Philly protestors from Dilworth Plaza. They were given three warnings to leave the plaza or face arrest. Most people dispersed, but some defied their requests and were arrested.

Center City Philadelphia is in a state of traffic chaos right now. Many streets are blocked off and many protestors are walking about on the streets.

Former Philadelphia Schools Superintendent Arlene Ackerman Collecting Unemployment

This will likely burn your rear end. Former Philly Superintendent Arlene Ackerman (who received a $900,000 buyout) is collecting unemployment. As if she needs more money! Ackerman will collect the state maximum of $539 per week.

If there is any reason to hate members of the Philadelphia government and so-called public service departments, this is a perfect reason to do so.

Put partial blame on the Philadelphia School District though. Part of their buyout agreement with Ackerman included a provision where they wouldn't contest her unemployment claims.
