Sixers' Lou Williams Nearly Robbed in Manayunk and Buys Robber Dinner

Sixers guard Lou Williams was hanging out in Manayunk on Christmas Eve when he was accosted by a robber at gunpoint while sitting in his car. The robber recognized Williams and then decided not to do the deed.

Lou Williams then treated the would-be robber to dinner at a McDonald's.

"A guy tried to rob me but decided not to because of whatever I do in the community," Williams told the Philadelphia Daily News before the Sixers' opener Monday night. "He's a Lou Williams fan so he didn't rob me."

The Philadelphia 76ers tipped off their season last night in Portland. Despite staging a comeback, they came up short, losing to the Trailblazers 107-103.

Lou Williams scored 13 of his 25 points in the 4th quarter. Evan Turner, their prized #2 overall pick from the 2010 draft shot 9 of 12 and finished with 23 points.

The Sixers are off tonight and head to Phoenix to take on the Suns tomorrow night out in the desert.
