The Omelette Weekly Roundup: Stubborn President Hosni Mubarak, Allentown Explosion, Super Bowl Tickets Fiasco, Lindsay Lohan White Dress, and more

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak still hasn't stepped down. Instead Mubarak gave a speech last night and told the nation he's relinquishing his power to the Vice President, who he hand picked, which means nothing will change. Reports are out that Mubarak has left Cairo today though. The plot thickens.

A gas explosion in Allentown Wednesday night resulted in the destruction of eight homes and five deaths. An elderly couple was among those who died in the explosion. The wife was actually on her phone at the time of the explosion.

The NFL and the Dallas Cowboys are getting sued by 2,000 ticket holders who got screwed out of the seats they paid for at the Super Bowl. The NFL offered the ticketholders three times face value and food in return for the ticket fiasco. The whole thing is a disgrace when you consider the fact that Jerry Jones found a way to get celebrities into the stadium.  But, the fans who prop this league up are the ones who got screwed in the end. Added to that, people spent thousands on hotel accomodations and traveled across the country to get there. The attorney representing the fans said the NFL's offer is unsatisfactory. I couldn't agree more. Hopefully they get taken to the cleaners over the Super Bowl ticket gaffe.

Lindsay Lohan was her usual self when she showed up for a court appearance this week wearing a white dress. She's facing felony grand theft charges for stealing a necklace from a jewlery store.

Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle isn't afraid to display his affection for pets. He also made it known he wished ill will on Michael Vick this past season. Buehrle admitted that he often wished Micahel Vick would get injured when he watched any Eagles games.
