Valentine's Day 2011...Not Just About Candy, Chocolate, Dinner, and Cards

It's that time of the year again - Valentine's Day. For some like Philly2Philly's Joe Vallee, Valentine's Day may also be your birthday. Happy Birthday to Joe!  If you don't have a significant other, fear not - there's still plenty of things you can do with your friends on Valentine's Day, according to Philly2Philly's Christine Tarlecki. If you haven't gone out to get your signifcant other a card yet, it's not too late. Hallmark may be picked over, but you can always try out your local CVS or Rite Aid.

Esperanza Spalding Surprise Winner Over Justin Bieber at Grammy Awards

The 2011 Grammy Awards were laden with performances and everybody is talking about Lady Gaga's entrance in an egg and her rip-off of Madonna's Express Yourself. Some are dubbing her new song, "Eggspress Yourself."  The big shocker of the evening was the fact that Justin Bieber didn't win the Grammy for Best New Artist. Instead, the winner was Esperanza Spalding. When it was announced she was the winner, millions of people collectively said, "who the hell is Esperanza Spalding?" With that said, Esperanza Spalding is a fairly unknown 26 year-old jazz musician. One has to wonder if the Grammy voters deliberately gave this award to Spalding out of spite. Justin Bieber was clearly the best new artist of the year and it wasn't even a contest. He got hosed.

As far as Joe Blanton is concerned, the Phillies insist he will be with the team, but baseball insiders like Seth Everett and Buster Olney believe he will be a Yankee by the time the team heads back up north at the end of spring training.
