The Omelette Weekly Roundup: Wing Bowl 2011, Hosni Mubarak's Final Days, Kenneth Cole Twitter Fail, Dallas Cold Spell, and Super Bowl Sunday

Wing Bowl 19 (or Wing Bowl 2011) is taking place today in South Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center. The event, started by 610 WIP's Al Morganti originally began as a small event, which took place in the parking lot outside the WIP studios. It is now one of the largest events of the year in the world of competitive eating. 5-time champ Bill "El Wingador" Simmons returned this year. Check out our interview with El Wingador by Philly2Philly's Joe Vallee.

There is a report that the Obama Administration is talking to Hosni Mubarak about a plan for his exit from Egypt. President Obama reportedly told Mubarak he must resign immediately. Whatever, the outcome is, something must be done quickly when you consider the importance of the Suez Canal, which is controlled by Egypt. Without the Suez Canal, oil doesn't get across the ocean.

Kenneth Cole is still under fire for his idiotic tweet the other day, in which he made light of Egypt's protests and said they were riled up because of their spring collection. This may be the dumbest thing a CEO of a major corporation has done in recent memory.

The northern parts of the country aren't the only places being affected by the wintry weather. Dallas, (where the Super Bowl will take place) is getting hard hit. They have had temperatures in the 20's for the past few days and will get snow once again this week.

Finally, the Philadelphia Eagles deserve some props. I'll rip them when it's warranted such as the other day when they hired Juan Castillo to be their defensive coordinator. But, yesterday a few Eagles players including DeSean Jackson went onto "The View" with Nadin Khoury, who was tortured by some Upper Darby classmates. It was an extremely classy move by the Eagles and they should get major kudos for doing that.
