Tastycake Purchased By Georgia Company

All of you Tastykake fans can relax now. Flowers Foods, a Georgia-based competitor has stepped in and purchased the struggling franchise. The $165 million deal will keep Tastykake operating and will even possibly turn it into a national brand. Tastykake has been struggling since the recession and inundated with millions of debt. Flower Foods will take on all existing debt.

Japan Nuclear Crisis Raised to Level - On Par With Chernobyl

Japanese officials have raised the level of their nuclear crisis to a seven, which equals the Chernobyl nuclear disaster from 1986. Only Chernobyl and the Fukushima Daichii nuclear disasters have ever reached a level seven, which is the highest number on the scale. This comes as no small surprise as we have heard horrific stories for weeks now about the radiation levels exceeding 10,000 standard levels. Added to that, radiation has leaked into the ocean and contaminated food. The level seven rating is the culmination of all of these problems according to officials.

Teen Assaulted in Fairmount Park

A 17-year-old girl was attacked in Fairmount Park yesterday. The girl was reportedly jogging around 8:30 in the morning when she was accosted by a man. The man pulled her pants down, but she managed to get away and alert authorities. No description of the man was made available as she was unable to identify the attacker.
