Browns Running Back Peyton Hillis Wins Madden Cover Vote Over Michael Vick

Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis was voted in by the fans to grace the cover of Madden 2012. He topped Michael Vick in an upset. This marks the first year that fans voted to decide who would be on the cover. This goes to show you just how passionate Cleveland Browns fans really are. One can argue that Browns fans are up there with Eagles fans for the most passionate in the NFL. And, they continue to support their squad after years of futility. Hillis became the first Browns running back to rush for over 1,000 yards since 2008. Hillis had 1,100 yards and 11 TDs on the year and helped many fantasy teams reach the playoffs. With Michael Vick not making the cover of Madden, EA Sports will avoid a controversy. Even though we are 3 years removed from Vick's incarceration, it is still fresh in many people's minds.

Phillies Finally Win One Off Dbacks to Avoid Sweep

The Phillies avoided a sweep by knocking off the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday afternoon. Cole Hamels got some much-needed run support in the 8-4 victory. Hamels had a very solid start- going 7 innings and striking out 8. The Phillies head back home and will take on the Mets at 7:05 Friday night.

Roy Oswalt Heads Back Home To Mississippi Due to Deadly Tornadoes

Roy Oswalt has left the Phillies to head back home to his family due to the rash of tornadoes, which have struck the region. The tornadoes have killed 83 people in Alabama and Mississippi thus far. However, CNN just reported that 159 people are confirmed dead. Oswalt lost his boyhood home to a tornado last year and wanted to head back home to be with his family according to Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. According to the team, he left indefinitely, but may be back for his next scheduled start on Tuesday.

Flyers to Face Bruins in Round Two

It's official - the Flyers will face the Boston Bruins in a rematch of last year's come-from-behind playoff matchup. They will face off on Saturday at 3:00 P.M.
