Dan Uggla Homerun Sinks Phillies

Roy Halladay once again pitched a complete game in a loss for the Phillies - as they lost 3-2 to the Braves yesterday. Dan Uggla's homerun in the 8th inning secured the win for the Braves who took the series. The Phillies' offensive woes continue - highlighted by the horrid play of Ben Francisco. Carlos Beltran, could perhaps be a player the Phillies target to improve their offense. John Mayberry Jr. could get a further look especially after going 1-for-2 yesterday with a homerun.

Teen From Phoenixville Killed in Horrific Crash on Route 422

Just before 8:00 P.M. on Sunday night Nicholas Bierer, 19, of Phoenixville lost control of his 2006 Nissan 350Z while driving eastbound on Route 422 near the Route 724 in North Coventry Township. Police allege that Bierer was driving an extremely high rate of speed before losing control of the Nissan. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle and died instantly. The passenger (Kevin Thompson of Phoenixville) in the car was wearing a seatbelt on the other hand and was released from Reading hospital.

Stephen Hawking Declares that Heaven Is a Fairytale

This is sure to annoy some religious followers who were hoping renown physicist Stephen Hawking could provide some scientific evidence that heaven exists.  Stephen Hawking (one of the world's smartest people) has declared that heaven is a "fairy story." In an interview with The Guardian, Hawking stated “I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail,” he said in the interview. “There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers. That is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.”
