"End of the World" on May 21st Breeds Money Makers

Harold Camping is getting a lot of press for being the so-called authority on the end of the world, which will allegedly take place on May 21st. But, there are some websites and businesses capitalizing on judgment day May 21st.

Take this website for instance: Eternal Earth-Bound Pets. For the low, low price of $135.00 they "will guarantee that should the Rapture occur within ten (10) years of receipt of payment, one pet per residence will be saved.  Each additional pet at your residence will be saved for an additional $20.00 fee.   A small price to pay for your peace of mind and the health and safety of your four legged and feathered friends."

Another pet care site called www.aftertherapturepetcare.com has popped up and is looking to capitalize on the post-rapture petcare market as well. If you google "post rapture petcare" you're sure to find many other sites looking to make a buck off the fear of gullible people who believe in this nonsense.

Cole Hamels Leads Phillies to 2-1 Victory

The Phillies ended their 4-game losing streak last night behind Cole Hamels' dominant effort against the Rockies. Hamels allowed just 1 run and struck out 8.  Ryan Madson recorded his 7th save of the season.

Tornado Touches Down in Philadelphia

Yesterday afternoon Philadelphia was hit with a tornado, which resulted in a roof of a building getting ripped off and another building collapsing. The tornado measured just an EF-0, which is the weakest type of twister, but nonetheless caused considerable damage to a couple buildings in Northeast Philly.
